Workshops for Humans:
Feldenkrais® and TTouch for You®

Workshop Descriptions

Feldenkrais - awareness through movementFeldenkrais workshops can be tailor-made for the group's particular interests or concerns, such as horseback riding, tennis, gardening, or address general issues of pain or stiffness.

Workshops include several Awareness Through Movement lessons, and include time for discussion and attention to particular concerns if desired. Much of the time participants will be lying on the floor and so should wear comfortable clothing. They may be asked to bring something to lie on and whatever pillows or bolsters may make them more comfortable.

One very popular workshop is "Taking it Easy," which blends Feldenkrais with Tellington TTouch.

"Taking it Easy"

In the "Taking it Easy" workshop you will learn techniques to support your own well-being and that of others. Participants are usually a mix of those with their own issues, and/or are caregivers who want to add to their skills. Prior experience with Feldenkrais or TTouch is not required.

Most of us have a tendency to move or carry ourselves in ways that are not as comfortable as they could be - and may even cause us pain. Do you ever sit or lie down and shortly afterwards change to a position that's more comfortable? It's pretty common. The odd thing is that we don't seem to learn from this and begin to choose the consistently more comfortable position to begin with!

In this workshop you will learn how to identify which of your postures and movements are easy for/on you, and which cause distress. It's a process that involves listening to those whispers within ourselves that say "ow!" or "aaahhh". When we know how to interpret what we feel and observe, we are able to make choices about what we do. Sometimes all it takes is a small change to make an enormous difference!

You will learn some simple yet powerful and profound Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons to address stiffness, discomfort or dysfunction. With the intent and focus of TTouch For You® we'll explore TTouch and bodywraps, and learn how to address some specific health care needs.

Both Feldenkrais and TTouch offer such a generous range of applications that we can easily vary the content to reflect the participants' experience and interest. If you want more information about what to expect please contact me.

Join us at a workshop, and gain a new appreciation of how you can improve your world "one TTouch at a time" . . . and in addition, and to quote Moshe Feldenkrais, discover how to "make the impossible, possible; the possible, easy; and the easy, elegant."
